Built in 1913. Some repairs were carried out in 1965, but by the 1980’s it was in a dreadful condition. Eventually refurbishment took place in 1991. New classrooms were added to make 3 classrooms, a staff room and a Learning Support room. A prefab was added in 2002 when Monaseed grew to 5 teachers; 4 classroom teachers and a shared learning support teacher. In 2008 two new state of the art classrooms were officially opened.

Monaseed National School is a Catholic Primary School. We aim to provide a full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person of the pupil. This includes the modeling of a Christian and religious way of life through daily morning / evening prayer and our codes of behavior.
We provide a Religious Education programme in accordance with the practices, doctrines and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and hope to promote and aid the faith formation of all through honesty and good example .

Notes and School Newsletters are sent home regularly with the students. These will contain information regarding days off, swimming, etc. We have recently launched our text to parents service which will be used to inform/remind parents of key dates and events.
